In 2003 the Lambert Family was seduced to the Barossa Valley from the USA, to make their home on a vineyard in this unique authentic region.

As of July 2005 - these two families have combined to create the exciting new Stanley Lambert Brand of wines. These wines reflect one family’s proud heritage and another’s exciting vision for the future.

These wines will still be the same great wines from Lindsay, but with added selection and more vineyards!

The Wine Maker

Lindsay Stanley is a winemaker in the time honoured tradition. A true character of the Barossa Valley, he has been making authentic wine for 30 years. This professional winemaker has applied many techniques, gained from years of experience, in creating honest wine.

Lindsay’s courage to commit to hands on winemaking challenges big wine producers and affords a wine enjoying experience to trust in. No shortcuts are taken. Patient maturation in oak over time, always revered but rarely fulfilled, is just one reflection of Lindsay’s proud winemaking approach.

The Thoroughbred Cabernet Sauvignon, August Shiraz and Full Sister Semillon are fine examples of honest wines maintaining full integrity and acclaimed values.

The Wines

August Shiraz: Honest, authentic Shiraz is the hallmark of the Barossa. For this wine we select fruit from mature vines, and after fermentation, the wine spends 15 months in American and French oak before release. Intense with berry and liquorice aromas, the 2001 Barossa Shiraz is rich and flavorsome, a perfect partner to beef and will age well for up to 10 years.

 

 

Thoroughbred Cabernet: Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon has been Lindsay Stanley’s pride for decades, and this wine shows his vast experience and love for the variety. Beautifully structured and elegant rather than overpowering, the 2001 Barossa Cabernet Sauvignon has blackcurrant and plum characters, fine tannins and a soft finish.

 

 

Full-Sister Semillon: Often referred to as the cousin or sister grape to Shiraz in the Barossa Valley. This Semillon is given grape skin contact prior to fermentation and has classic lemon butter and straw characters with fresh acidity and lime notes. Perfect with seafood.

 

 

Pristine Chardonnay: A distinctively fresh Pristine Chardonnay with soft ripe melon characters designed to drink as an aperitif or as an accompaniment to light dishes.

 

 

Dundee’s Cabernet (75%) Merlot (25%): A medium bodied wine with rich Cabernet Sauvignon characters complemented by the soft violet flavours of Merlot. A complex wine with richness and depth.

 

 

Mustang Sally Shiraz: Mustang Sally is a soft spicy Shiraz with earthy fruit characters. The palate shows light berry flavours with sweet soft tannins and a gentle finish.

 

 

Black Sheep - Shiraz (40%) Malbec (30%) Merlot (30%): An unusual blend of varieties to produce an easy drinking wine of medium structure with a medley of fruit characters. Lightly aged for eight months in seasoned American Oak, enjoy now or cellar 2-3 years.
